Site News: Format

I've gone to the new goggle/blogspot template that allows "labels" which makes the site more searchable. I'll continue to improve the labelling--it's incomplete at the moment, but the major categories are there.

The way it works is this: click on the label in the list to the side, and the posts with that label will appear on your screen. It's a way the reader can organize posts to suit a specific interest. You can also click on the label under a specific post.

Star Trek: Alternative Futures has received an amazing response around the Internet. If you missed it or would like to check out new comments, click here.

This week: Connections between HG Wells and Star Trek. Coming: more on Wells' science fiction novels (and their film versions), and on the various versions of The War of the Worlds, before a consideration of Steven Spielberg and his version which opens late this month.

The expanded version of my essay on Wells and The War of the Worlds that appeared in the SF Chroncile can be found here.

Thank you!

Thanks to all who found their way to Soul of Star Trek over the past week or so. The site had over a thousand page loads in one day for the first time, and total visitors in the thousands as well, from Australia, Austria, Canada, France, England, Germany, Japan, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Namibia, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Wales and all regions of the U.S.

And special thanks to those who left such thoughtful as well as gracious comments.

Also to those who are checking out the Trek fictions at Morgan Dash.

As a special greeting to all the visitors from Italy, I'll sign my full name:

---William Severini Kowinski

UPDATE: add Costa Rica, Denmark, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Phillipines and Slovakia.
UPDATE 2: and as of March 1, add Brazil, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Thailand, and Venezuela. That makes readers from every continent except (so far) Antarctica.
