i know that line "early clue to new direction" appears in Hard day's night. and it is also the name of an underground film from 1966, pre-dated abviously by hard day's night, right? any idea of the origin of the phrase?
hey Patrick--I know the phrase from the Beatles movie. As far as I know that's its origin in a comedic context. Ad folk obviously used something like it before.
