TNG, and the Coke Classic/New Coke analogy. Actually I think it fits this situation much better, because the movie is a new "flavor" of the same "beverage," that is a new version/alternate universe of the Original Series. Whether the movie will turn out to be as badly accepted as New Coke remains to be seen, of course. I'm not saying Nay. I'm just sayin.Captain Futurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17816281907976118198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4086344.post-79626599744160342542009-01-15T20:05:00.000-08:002009-01-15T20:05:00.000-08:00The "New Coke" analogy is way played out. They were sure that Picard and his pals would go the way of New Coke.

Oops! Why is everyone assuming he fails?

I think people are over-analyzing the few facts available to us at this time. Speaking for myself, I'm content to wait until I've seen the movie to judge whether or not it succeeds.

MarkBAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4086344.post-62836068941323268822009-01-11T04:06:00.000-08:002009-01-11T04:06:00.000-08:00Seems to me the theory they really need to invoke ...Seems to me the theory they really need to invoke is hypertime, which allows for divergent timelines to re-merge at some point later on...ADDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14926713718402276984noreply@blogger.com
